Independence Park (National Stadium)
When I was playing D'cup I used to wonder why the national stadium was called the "national stadium" and not something like Bob Marley Sports and Entertainment complex as an example. Maybe not bob, but more tuned to someone who drove sports home for Jamaicans.
Now decades later i'm still trying to ponder why it's called "Independence Park" and not something more forthright. I mean, seriously, why not something more meaningful?

Built and opened in 1962 - yeah liberation year
Capacity 35,000 - still, really? no major upgrades in seating?
is who controlling the maintenance?
If is government, then maybe they need to send it out to a private company so they can run it.
