The hero of France '98. Theodore "Tappa" Whitmore etched his name in Jamaican football history by scoring both goals in Jamaica's historic 2-1 victory over Japan—the Reggae Boyz's first and only World Cup win. A creative midfielder with exceptional vision and technique, Whitmore played professionally in the United States with Kansas City Wizards and Hull City in England. He later served as Jamaica's national team coach, guiding a new generation of Reggae Boyz. His brace against Japan remains the defining moment in Caribbean World Cup history.

The backbone of Jamaica's World Cup campaign. Warren "Boopie" Barrett was Jamaica's first-choice goalkeeper and team captain during their historic 1998 World Cup qualification. Known for his commanding presence, excellent reflexes, and leadership qualities, Barrett was instrumental in Jamaica's Caribbean dominance throughout the 1990s. He earned over 80 caps for Jamaica and played domestically for Harbour View FC, becoming one of the most decorated goalkeepers in Jamaican football history.

Jamaica's all-time leading goalscorer with an incredible 38 goals in 93 appearances. Born in England to Jamaican parents, Deon Burton was a prolific striker who terrorized defenses in the English Football League. He played for numerous clubs including Portsmouth, Derby County, Sheffield Wednesday, and Charlton Athletic. At just 21 years old during the 1998 World Cup, Burton represented Jamaica's bright future and continued to be the nation's attacking spearhead for over a decade.

Known for his tough tackling, excellent positioning, and ability to break up play, he was a key figure in protecting Jamaica's defense during their World Cup campaign. FRANK SINCLAIR

Born: December 3, 1971 • Lambeth, London

A powerful, commanding center-back who anchored Jamaica's defense. Frank Sinclair rose through Chelsea's youth academy and became a regular starter at Stamford Bridge, winning the FA Cup in 1997 and the League Cup in 1998. He also had successful spells at Leicester City (winning two League Cups) and Burnley. His Premier League experience and winning mentality made him one of Jamaica's most important players at France '98. Known for his strength in the air and no-nonsense defending style.

One of Jamaica's greatest ever players. Ricardo Gardner was just 19 when he represented Jamaica at the 1998 World Cup, but his raw pace and skill on the wing caught everyone's attention. He went on to become a legend at Bolton Wanderers, making over 350 appearances across 14 seasons in the Premier League and Championship. Known as "The Bionic Man" for his incredible fitness and versatility, Gardner could play left wing or left back with equal effectiveness. He is Bolton's longest-serving overseas player.

Jamaica's most capped player in history with 131 appearances. Ian Goodison was a rock-solid center-back known for his leadership, aerial dominance, and consistent performances over an incredible two-decade international career. After starring at the 1998 World Cup, he continued to represent Jamaica until 2014 at age 42. He played professionally in the United States with Transvaal FC and had a successful career in the Jamaican Premier League with Harbour View.

His pace and movement off the ball made him a constant danger, and his experience in competitive English football was valuable for Jamaica's World Cup campaign. He earned 41 caps for Jamaica.
